Woman : The Lack of Desire
The decrease in libido affects both men and women. This can often lead to consequences such as estrangement and conflict.
The definition of female sexual desire disorder evokes first of all an absence or a decrease of sexual fantasies or desire for sexual activity.
The woman suffering from this disorder has little motivation to seek sexual sensations and usually does not initiate sexual activity, or does so reluctantly when her partner does.
This situation causes pronounced subjective suffering in the woman and/or her partner and thus relationship difficulties.
We distinguish different types of dysfunction
Primary dysfunction: Sexual desire has always been low or absent. This concerns a minority of women suffering from libido problems.
The secondary dysfunction: It corresponds to a desire that was present, but that has diminished or disappeared gradually or suddenly. In the case of situational disorder, the desire is weak or absent during certain stimuli only, or in certain situations, for example with a particular partner or when the children are sleeping in the next room.
The generalized disorder appears in any situation and independently of the partner.
It is also necessary to look at sexual anxiety. It appears before or during sexual intercourse. If it is strong, it often leads to a disguised avoidance of relations.
Anxiety fantasies:
Performance anxiety
Desire disorders in his or her partner
The practice of an intensive sport such as running can be at the origin of the loss of desire.
History of personal problems
Depressive syndromes
Other factors that can cause a decrease in libido include
The decrease in sexual desire is not inevitable since sex therapy can help you regain pleasure during the sexual act, to stimulate your libido so that you can be part of a notion of pleasure.

Hypnosis, EMDR and sex therapy provide personalised support in achieving a goal, unblocking a situation or simply bringing about a desired change. They enable people to optimise their ability to resolve certain problems, which may lead to the disappearance of symptoms.
Only a doctor can make a diagnosis. I am neither a doctor nor a psychiatrist. I do not diagnose, treat or cure.
Hypnotherapy, EMDR and sex therapy are part of the helping relationship, outside the medical and regulated framework. They are therefore no substitute for any medical procedure or treatment, of which they may be complementary.
These activities cannot replace medical advice or replace traditional medicine. I reserve the right, if necessary and with your agreement, to refer you to a doctor, urologist or gynaecologist.
